Objectives
- Comprehend the normal disposition, inter-relationships, gross, functional and applied anatomy of the various structures in the body.
- He / She should be able to locate the site of gross lesions according to the deficits encountered.
- Develop the skill of dissecting & identifying the structures of the body.
Department has been thriving since establishment of college for disseminating knowledge in Rachana Shareera with its faculty known for excellence in teaching. Department has been and is been complimented with dissection hall and organs specimen gallery.
Department takes pride in saying that History was created in the form SON DISSECTS FATHERS BODY on 13/11/2010. The heading may seem to be a bit bizarre but this is the truth. This was the first of its kind in India and second in the world when a doctor dissected the body of his relative. Dr. M B Rammanvar was the one after Sir William Harvey of Kent (England) who dissected the body of his sister to explain the human anatomy to his students in 1578. This historic event was covered by BBC WORLD NEWS.
Department extends its service by pledging in body donation for cadaver to students of different institutes. Various awareness camps are conducted for creating significance of human body in medical science and research. Till date 1000 people have pledged the body donation and 14 cadavers were available to students.
Department is strengthened by different Teaching Modalities like E-dissection facility, Educational CDs, Wet Specimens, Dry specimens, LCD, Mummified cadavers, Human Skeleton. Advanced and slow learners are given respective help in coping up with medical education.
Department has organized more than 6 Crash courses on various topics of Anatomy and a Symposium.
